Review: Let's Pretend This Never Happened

 Let's Pretend This Never Happened
(A Mostly True Memoir)
by Jenny Lawson
The Bloggess

Because this is a work of Non-Fiction (debatable, considering how often in the book the author admits to what she's just said as being a work of fiction)

I am just going to come right out and say:

READ THIS BOOK, NOW!

I haven't laughed this much reading a book... hmm, maybe ever.
This book is a monument to how Jenny Lawson can be handed quite a lot of crap,
then turn it into gold.

Yes, Jenny Lawson is a poop alchemist.

Er, maybe this review isn't going exactly how I imagined it in my head.

The point is, this book is hilarious, even when the author is talking about terrible, terrible life events, she still manages to make her readers laugh... while weeping...

come to think of it, don't read this at work, you'll look like a lunatic.
A jovial lunatic.

And did I mention:

READ THIS BOOK, NOW!

  1. 'Poop alchemist', lol. I'll have to remember that one. I read the preview on Amazon, and I'm going to have to check and see if the local library carries this one. I was in stitches from the beginning.

Thanks for stopping by my blog -- I'm returning the follow :)

  2. I will probably give this a try at some point. I am quite curious about it. While I am not easily offended, I am not a fan of snark, so we will see. Thank you for your thoughts.

    1. It's not really a snarky book though... she doesn't spend her time ripping on everyone else or putting people down... it's a book about her own life and how absolutely crazy it is and has been.

Her perspective on it, even the worst of it, is funny as heck... having you laughing and crying at the same time.
